I can’t seem to stick with one hobby. I’ll see something that looks fun, and I’ll give it a whirl. Some things I try once and decide they aren’t for me. Others, I’ll return to when it suits my mood (or my wallet).
Some people might call this fickle. I call it inquisitive. Curious. Adventurous. Inspired. Creative.
I do what makes me happy at that moment in time. That might mean baking five different batches of Christmas cookies, trying to make bead jewelry, wrapping a Christmas yarn wreath in July, or obsessively searching for my next cross stitch pattern. I love learning and trying new things, so I can’t help but to move from one craft to another (baking and cooking usually stick with me). I tell people I am the jack-of-all-trades when it comes to crafting.
As a busy stay-at-home mom to a rambunctious two year old boy, I find little time to myself. Most of that spare time is taken up by my wonderful husband and sharing interests with him, usually playing video games on the computer. I also read and try to write my own things, so the small amount of time left for crafting needs to be well spent.
